The system monitor module in action

All of the modules in the Inventua DNN System Monitoring Kit are designed to allow you to create system monitoring and information pages that look the way you want them to look.  Using the capabilities of DotNetNuke, you create customized DNN tabs containing system monitoring information, event logs and system information laid out the way you want.  Layout is controlled using your CSS stylesheets, DNN containers and skins.

The modules in the DNN system monitoring kit use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and TCP/IP to monitor local and remote systems.  No additional software is required on the monitored system(s), you just need to configure the module with user credentials to query WMI objects on remote servers (monitoring of the local DNN server does not require credentials).

The modules are easy to set up, and work just like any other DNN modules.  You can have a customized network monitoring solution up and running in half an hour or less.

The DNN system monitoring kit consists of three modules:

System Monitor:  The system monitor module checks systems and applications, displaying the results within your DNN portal.  You can configure the system monitor module to:

• Check available disk space is within configured threshold.
• Check CPU utilization is within configured threshold.
• Check memory usage is within configured threshold.
• Check ping time threshold.
• Monitor FTP, HTTP, SQL Server.
• Monitor windows services.

The system monitor module can be used multiple times on a tab (or on seperate tabs) to monitor all of your Windows servers, not just your DotNetNuke server.  The system monitor module also contains limited support for non-Windows servers.

The system monitor module can be configured to show all of the information available, or to show only warnings and errors.  You can also configure the system monitor module to render links to system information and/or event display tabs created using the other modules in the Inventua DNN System Monitoring Kit.  [system monitor module details]

Event Viewer:  The Inventua EventViewer Module for DotNetNuke displays application and system events from the event log within your DNN portal.  You can configure the number of events to display, whether to show or exclude information events and whether to show events from the last 48 hours only.   [event viewer module details]
