Shadow Documentation

The Inventua Shadow Module for DotNetNuke presents a read-only copy of a module from another tab. This allows the user to share content and settings between tabs.

Acknowledgements
Webstone Technologies have a Shadow Module with similar functionality developed by Jeremy White. The Inventua Shadow module is not based on the code from the Webstone shadow module, and has different functionality then the Webstone one - The Inventua Shadow Module allows you to share icon, cache, personalization, alignment, color and border settings (and the Webstone version does not). We developed our own Shadow module because we needed the extra functionality, and we've released it because we think others might benefit from it, too.

Shadow is Free!
The Inventua Shadow module is available at no cost. Most of Inventua's DNN modules are available on a try before you buy basis. You can download them freely from Inventua, and try them out for as long as you like. If you are happy with the product, you can buy it at SnowCovered.

Installation
The installation zip file is configured as a DotNetNuke Private Assembly. To install Inventua DNN Shadow to your DNN portal, log in as the DNN host user "host" and use the DNN Module Definitions page to upload the module.

Compatibility
This module has a version for DNN version 2.1.2. and another version for DNN 3/4.

Configuration Options

Source Portal	Specifies the portal the "shadowed" module comes from. Only host users (super-users) can access this control. "Source Portal" is available in the version of shadow for DNN 3/4 only.
Source Page	Specifies the page the "shadowed" module comes from.
Source Module	Specifies the module to shadow.
Shadow Icon	Specifies whether to use the icon setting from the source module (checked), or use the icon setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Title	Specifies whether to use the title and "show title" setting from the source module (checked), or use the title and setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Cache	Specifies whether to use the cache timeout setting from the source module (checked), or use the cache timeout setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Visibility	Specifies whether to use the visibility setting from the source module (checked), or use the setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Alignment	Specifies whether to use the alignment setting from the source module (checked), or use the alignment setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Color	Specifies whether to use the color setting from the source module (checked), or use the color setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
Shadow Border	Specifies whether to use the border setting from the source module (checked), or use the border setting from the shadow module instance (un-checked).
